FABRICS

For easy day-to-day maintenance of your Sunbrella fabric:

  1. Brush off loose dirt before it becomes embedded with a soft brush.

  2. Wipe up spills as soon as they occur, and spot-clean fabric before stains set.

  3. Allow cleaning solution to soak into the fabric.

  4. Let upholstery air dry.

  5. Remove cover and machine wash if necessary.

POWDER COATED MATERIALS

Do not rub or scratch metal components & powder coating with abrasive materials. Knocking or dropping the powder coated item might lead to chips and scratched on the surface. Avoid using household chemicals such as solvents, detergents or ammonia-based products as they might damage or mark the coating. Simply wipe the surface with lukewarm water and wipe dry afterwards. Prolonged exposure to moisture could affect the surface finish.

WOOD

All our exterior wooden products are prepared & pre-treated for outdoor environments by Rubio Monocoat.

Wood as a natural material will have a unique variation in colour, grain and natural marks. The material can expand and contract due to humidity and the temperature of the environment. Try to avoid placing the material in direct sunlight, heat or dampness. This will assist in preventing warping & cracking of the wood over time. We recommend applying a durable oil sealant to the furniture which protects it from light moisture, dirt and regular use. To maintain the original finish of the material, dust with a microfibre cloth and at times wipe with a damp cloth. All spills and stains can be prevented by immediately attending to the spillage, wiping down the entire area with a soft damp cloth and using a separate cloth to dry. We do not recommend using abrasives, chemicals, other common household cleaning products as well as wax oils and stains. Instead of placing hot drinks directly on the wood, we advise using the marble inlay of the table instead.

After use, wipe down the wooden surfaces with a damp cloth to preserve and protect the wood coating. In case of the product getting wet, it is recommended to dry it off immediately. When in contact with wine, vinegar or oil and spillage being left on the material, stains will occur. To avoid those stains, wipe up spills directly with a damp cloth and dry. Spills should never be left overnight as they will sink in and leave a mark on the wood. Avoid leaving wooden furniture items in full exposure to the sun as it causes light surface cracks.

MONOCOAT

This is a durable oil sealant applied to the furniture to protect the wood from light moisture, dirt and regular use. Remove spills immediately using a soft cloth and suitable cleaning products. Only use Rubio Monocoat wax where needed and refrain from using household wax or oil-based detergents. Furthermore, avoid the use of ammonia-based detergents such as Sunlight Liquid and Handy Andy. Only clean with a dry or damp cloth.

We recommend using after purchase:

  • Universal Maintenance Oil

  • Refresher Spray

FABRICS

All our exterior fabrics are UV resistant & extensively tested for outdoor environments by Sunbrella. The fabrics are not under warranty and the lifespan of the product is subject to normal wear and tear. We recommend cleaning the fabric by regularly vacuuming and wiping. In case stains occur, use mild laundry detergent with lukewarm water and a microfibre cloth. Try to not use any coloured sponges or cloths as the eye may alter the fabric. Due to dust and dirt agin fabric faster, we recommend vacuuming regularly by using an upholstery attachment. For spot cleaning of smaller stains, try using a conventional upholstery spot remover. Make sure to test the product on a small area before following the instructions on the packaging.

WOVEN FABRICS

Gently vacuum wool if needed, using an upholstery attachment. Do not use a vacuum attachment with a rotary brush as it might cause piling of the fabric. Brushing might damage the wool, excess piling can be removed with a fabric shaver. In case stains occur, the upholstery should be cleaned immediately to prevent permanent stains. Simply use a mild laundry detergent with lukewarm water and a microfibre cloth.

NATURAL STONE

Natural stones are highly absorbent of oils which lead to permanent stains. We recommend to either make use of a specialist cleaner or wiping the surface with lukewarm water to dry with a separate cloth afterwards. Remove all soap residue using a dry and clean microfibre cloth. Never let natural stone dry naturally as it will cause watermarks.

MULTIFILAMENT BRAIDED ROPE

A handheld vacuum and a soft brush will remove unwanted dust that accumulates. A camp cloth can be used with mild soap. The colour fast rope colour will continue to shine through if the correct and continuous care is frequent.

METAL COMPONENTS & DECORATIVE METAL WIRE

Do not clean with any abrasive materials such as steel wool. A light dusting with a feather duster is recommended. A gentle damp-wipe may be used on all powdercoated areas. Metal exposed in its natural state will speed up the tarnishing process of the metal. Tarnishing will occur naturally and should be seen as an inevitable raging process instead of discolouration. Brass will form patina over time, therefore we recommend using a brass polishing cream and a microfibre cloth to polish the material.

LEATHER

For supplied products including leather, dust gently with a duster or soft cloth. Protect the material from excessive sunlight, dryness or heat. Direct sunlight will make the leather fade quickly causing it to dry out and form cracks. If needed, use clean lukewarm water and let it try naturally. Do not rub while cleaning leather or use chemicals, solvents, furniture polish or abrasive cleaners like soap and ammonia products. Leather as a natural product will show irregularities in colour and grain. Leather ages and will have wrinkles, scars and scrapes which does not influence its quality.
